Violets are blue,it's the end of the day,and I feel as good as new. "Jakie boy,I'll meet you MAC, a 'ight?" said a voice coming from a cell phone. The guy sounded drunk and Jake knew he was.The line went dead, ending with an annoying tone everybody hated.Jake turned off the phone, cause tonight was the boys night out. He wore a light blue polo shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.Faded baggy jeans and some white Superstar 35 Adidas. As he walked in,he noticed the place was crowded with young women...half naked. As he passed by them, they turned to him as if god's light had shined on them. Yes,he wore AXE and that was his key. He walked towards a neon litted room. He saw three guys inside with women crowded around them. Two of the guys he knew, and the other was a stranger. "Hey Rob,Jonathan" he said to the two he knew.Rob was the guy he was talking to on the phone.Jake could smell alchohol from where he stood.Damn!,they drank."Chad" introduced the stranger.Jake sat down by Jonathan, an old highschool friend.

Mia tapped her fingernails on the bar, staring at all the filth in this place. Sadly, the managers here are fucking dumb and don't care to pay attention to how old a bartender is before they hire her. Lucky for her, it's a paying job. And she didn't even have to walk around half bare like all the girls that worked here did. Simple enough? Pour drinks to slobs and talk to the pathetic drunks who got cheated on. Derek would have a shit fit if he knew she was bartending here. But she didn't care. She needed the money.
Mia raised an eyebrow as a few guys came in that she'd never seen before. They walked back into some private room, or whatever. Mia shrugged, pouring another drink for someone, and sighing in disgust. This place made her wanna puke. Which was sad... considering it was Mia.

"Jake, you wanna drink?" asked Chad."Sure,I guess..." he said.He wasn't having fun with his old friends. The guys got up and walked to the bar.The 4 guys sat each sat down on a stool."Hey,gimme a Heineken's" said Rob to Mia,he had the hiccups. So after he hiccuped he began to laugh."Bud Light" said Jake. The other two ordered what they wanted, which was some weird liquor.Jonathan's eyes were bloodshot and he looked high. His eyes were dilated and he was breathing fast.He did drugs around Jake, but Jake never did them.

Mia set the two simple order down in front of Chad and Jake. Than immediate after, got the other two mixed together. Mia raised an eyebrow at the one boy, who looked higher than a damn aircraft Not like she wasn't used to it, so she blew it off like no big deal. Even though anyone under severe influence wasn't allowed in here.
Mia sighed looked at the new comers again. "You don't come here often, eh?" Mia said, not directing it to any of them in particular. Then realizing she probably should have.

Jake was the only one who didn't say "No".The other three came here almost every day. This was Jake's first time here.Jake looked at Mia,who looked like she didn't like it here."You actually work here?" he asked. He didn't understand why anyone would want to work in this dump.Chad got out his wallet and gave Mia a $20 bill.He didn't care how much it costed as long as money was on the counter. After,he offered Jake a cigarette,Camel.Jake hated the smell of the smoke, muchless smoking.

Mia sighed with a shrug, nodding her head. "Yeah. But it puts money in my wallet. So I can't complain too much." She didn't mind it too much. The only thing it really bugged her about, was the ignorance of some of these men. They were so- it was even hard to explain. She just didn't like being cramped behind a bar with little space, forced to try to listen to slurred requests.
Mia grabbed the 20, and pressed the button to open the register. She groaned, seeing it wasn't open. After pressing multiple more times, she banged her fist against it, causing it to pop open. She put the money, in, and closed it back up.

Jake nodded to her response then said to Chad "No thanks"."How long you been working here?" he asked Mia.He didn't want to talk to the hyper-squirrel Jonathan, nor the smoke head Chad, nor Rob.Or any of the other girls around him.He didn't feel comfortable around them anymore.Life felt dangerous and even more insecure. (no muse )

Mia shrugged and counted in her head how long she's been working here. "Around two weeks or so. Only job I could really get. So I jumped at it." All the others places rejected her. All the other places she's applied for were too advanced for her,I guess.Mia let a small sight escape her lips,as she looked around the Club. Its going to be a long night, even though it was already nine O'clock, but she didn't get off till three O'clock.
Mia turned her attention back over to Jake. "So you having fun?"She said, with a small smile. To her he really didn't look like it,but that was just her opinion.

"Depends on what you mean by fun" he said. No,he wasn't having fun with his old buddies. And he wasn't having fun in the place alone. "I'm Jake,do you have a name?" he asked her, jokingly.Chad and Rob got up with two other girls and went back to the room they were in.Jonathan went to bathroom.Jake didn't like being alone, especially around a girl.Yeah he hung around them, but never alone.

Mia gently laughed. Apparently he wasn't having so much fun. Who could blame him. This place was an heir to Satan. In her eyes anyway. "I'll take that as a no than." She could definitely relate. Having to stay here was bad enough. But not more than one sober person in the whole damn place? Geesh. Mia was such a hypocrite when it came to that.
Mia smiled when he told her his name "Sadly, yes, I do have a name. Mia." She replied, with another smile. "It's nice to actually be talking to someone that can speak in sentences and not drag on their words. It's different. But I like it." She said with a laugh. Too bad this guy was probably never going to show up here again. Like I said. Who could blame him?

"Nice to meet you Mia" he said with a charming smile on his face, "Not only do I talk clearly and in full sentences in english, but I also speak spanish and french.Well alittle french".His parents put him in spanish and french classes when he was 7.It was hard for him to learn french, but spanish was easy and similar.Jake liked Mia."What time to you get out of work?" he asked.

Mia raised her eyebrows a tad bit with a small small "Two foreign languages. Aren't you smart. Not to mention gorgeous." Mia added on with a small laugh looking over at the clock on the wall. She cringed at his question. Mia would skip out of work in a heartbeat if she had to. This job blowed major. "I get off at 3 am." Mia spat out in a low unenthused voice. "That is unless I find something better to do." [egh. short. sorry. long day.]

Jake smiled at her comment. "I get that alot" he said, "You're pretty gorgeous yourself" he added after a short pause. Jake looked at his watch. It was 9:41 pm. Only 7 hours and 20 minutes to go. That was a pretty long time for Jake when he had nothing to do. "You don't seem to enthusiastic about your job".

Mia grinned at him, leaning back against the liquor rack. Enthusiastic? She hated the place. The smell of it. The look of it. The people. It was all terrible in her eyes. The only reason she got it, was the money. And that's all she kept telling herself. Money. "Oh, gee, I LOVE my job." Mia retorted sarcastically, folding her hands as if she were praying, looking up. Mia then laughed and shook her head. "Ugh. I absolutely hate it here. It's sleazy." She said wrinkling her nose.
Mia tugged on her necklace looking in the background at all the patheticness this place shelter. It was like a zoo for fat drunk lonely slobs. It made her sick to her stomach.

"Looks like my mom's cat's litterbox," he said looking around. He really did mean it. "and smells like it too" he finished.Jake laughed with her."Why don't you work at the Shopping Center? Looks and smells better than this junkyard" he suggested.Wait a minute...why'd he come here in the first place?
