Cameron walked on the warm sandy beach. Her towel wrapped around her waist. She smiled at the warm breeze. She wore a tiny bikini and white flip flops, soon to turn brown, stained by the sand.
She closed her eyes and sat down on the beach, staring into the sunset. She had honestly been bored without her mother bossing her around. She looked back, acting as if an angel just came up to her, a really good looking angel. She chuckled.
She looked around the beach, it seemed empty for a nice night like tonight. She stood up again and started walking. She took off her flip flops and let the sand seep between her toes. She walked along the edge of the water, letting it hit her ankles.
Had she gone to far. Did she have to leave, or was it just another selfish act of a princess, who was always spoiled rotten. She shrugged and wrapped her arms around herself, acting like she was cold. All she wanted was some one to show up, and be willing to take her somewhere.

Derek practically lived at the beach,he was normally here everyday, except when it rain of course.Although he did show up once when it had been raining. The sun was setting now,and he just got to the beach. He was here earlier, surfing as he always loved to do.That had to be one of his favorite things to do.He loved it.If he was stressed, mad, pissed he could always just surf.
Derek made his way on to the sand, wearing wife beater and some red, white, and black swim trunks that went down to the middle of his knees along with black sandals so he could feel the sand seeping into them,as he walked. It was rather warm still from the sun.He was going to meet some people here later, and just came back early. As he was walking along the sand, noticing there was hardly any people here.It was rather nice,I suppose. He did notice one girl walking along the edge of the water.
Derek didn't know if the girl wanted to be alone or what, but being him he always wanted to make a new friend it couldn't hurt.He made his way down to the shore line, seeing the girl much better now.He smiled lightly at her. "Hey..."He said "You look rather bored..."He said taking a guess,as he walked somewhat beside her now.

Cameron sighed. She yawned and looked around once again. She noticed a figure in the distance, but ignored it. She didn't want to seem needy, like she needed attention. She walked at the slow pace, not in any hurry. She was just getting used to the area, soaking it all in.
When she heard the voice of a person, she looked up, kind of shocked, that someone had actually came. "Oh," She replied "Yeah, I guess kinda am." She shrugged. The presence of someone made her fell some what more comfortable.
She looked at him and smiled. "I'm Cameron." She had no idea why she had just said her name to a total stranger. She was just that kind of person. "Do you mind if I know your name?" She asked. She looked out into the sunset. It had many colors, from pink to purple, to gold. She crossed her arms, wondering why he was here if no one else was.

Derek smiled, looking over at her."Nice to meet you Cameron."He stated, then kinda watching the sunset,as he listened to her. "Sure. Its Derek."He told her.Derek never really like his name,it seemed eh rather common to him and he didn't like it.He'd rather have a different name. He'd thought he should start up a conversation or something. To kill some time while he waited for his friends to show up,and also to maybe get to know her a little better.Couldn't hurt...
"So what are you doing, out here by yourself?"He asked, curiously. Not that it was any of his business but just wondering really. The sun was slowly going down now and it would be getting dark pretty soon. He'll be here for at least another half an hour unless his friends don't show.Which is most likely to happen. They would either for get or were to lazy,to get up and come here.Thats what Derek hated about them, and well people in general, that were lazy and wanted everything handed to them on a silver platter.
He crossed his arm,as he waited for her response, looking out at the sun set.

Cameron looked up the beach as the wind hit her face. "Nice to meet you too." Cameron offered a smile. After he asked his question, she shrugged. "I don't know, I'm just bored." She said, tilting her head. She was new to the area, and was just wondering around. "Kind of getting used to the place." Cameron added after she put some thought to it. She looked down at the pebbles in the sand.
Cameron looked up, meeting her eyes with his. "Why are you here?" She asked. Her left eyebrow flew up, the right one staying where it belonged. She tended to do that a lot. Whenever she was in deep thought, she would do it without thikning about it. She also did it when she asked questions.
She looked away, why would someone be so friendly to her, to someone he had just met, someone they didn't know?

Derek looked over at her,as he listened to what she was saying. He would most always look at someone when he talked to them.He thought it was rude not too. "So I take it that your new here?"He asked raising his eyebrow a little."I could show you around the city,if you'd like,or something..."He said with a small shrug, trailing off.
He listened to her ask why he was here. "Well I was going to meet some of my friends here, but I don't think they're going to show up."He said with a sigh, noticing how much the sun had already gone down.Derek looked down then at the wet sand.Thinking of really what to do,like if they didn't show up and all.

Cameron smiled. "That would be nice. Have you been around her long?" She asked. She kept her gaze on him, holding a light smile. The sun had gone down, it seemed as fast as someone just turning off a light switch. Off, the sun was down.
She sighed. His answer to his questions brought back memories of high school, and not good ones. "I used to have friends like that, back in Colorado. They wouldn't show up, then say, sorry, I tried to call you, but you didn't have your cell phone, or some other stupid excuse, then say, I'll meet you tomorrow, only to do it again. Then I thought, what's the point, and found better friends, then left for here." She finally stopped herself, able to go on. She took a deep breathe. "I didn't mean to tell you my whole life story." She smiled.
She looked around. "So, what do you do for fun around here?" She had to admit it, but it wasn't as great as she had expected yet. Hollywood, it wasn't like it was on the commercials. It probably depended where you were, which was better or worse then the was advirtised.

Derek looked at her,and listened to her. "Yes unfortunately."He said with a small sigh. "I've been here over a year."He did like this place it was nice and all but it wasn't the same as his home town which was Napa Cal.He loved that place, probably because he never really got into the shit that he sometimes does here." Well,I guess it really isn't that long compared to the people that have lived here all their lives."He noticed the sun had gone fully all the way down.Derek always like the night unsure really why but he just did.Maybe because he wasn't much of a morning person. So he staid up all night.
Derek had small smile upon his face as she told him about her friends back in Colorado, but then it soon faded. He hated people like that just give you some stupid excuse when you know it has to be a lie.His friends were kinda like that in away, most of them were just bums so to speak. Not really his friends. "Thats alright."He said with the smile appearing back on his face.He didn't mind at all in fact he liked listening to what other people had to say.Derek really wasn't that much of a talker, but if you need to rant about something he'd listen,to everything.
"Fun eh?"He said think of what he did for fun, normally he'd just sit at home with his friends and drink that was his fun.Unless on those rare occasions that he went to the Club of course that was always fun.Well to him it was.Or being at the beach thats where he loved to be most of the time. "Well...for fun I do go to the Clubs and stuff around here. There alright."He said with a shrug.

Cameron crossed her arms and smiled lightly. "I've only been here for a day." She said with a light laugh. She turning her head toward the ocean and sighed. She listened to him talked back to her. "I'm from Colorado, you probably know, since I mentioned it earlier, I've lived there since I was like one, then came here." She shrugged.
She thought about her 'friends' from Colorado. "I noticed that the 'nerds' are always better friends after high school then the 'popular' people. You know them longer, and they always end up being the boss." She just had to get everything out, and knowing that he didn't care, she would keep talking. She talked all the time, and had a blooming personality.
She smiled at him. "Fun." She wasn't old enough for clubs yet, she was only twenty, but she would soon be twenty-one, in a couple weeks, like four, maybe a month. Maybe Hollywood would be better then she imagined.

Derek nodded his head listening to her talk.Colorado he'd never been there before. "Why'd you move here of all places?"He asked her, just wondering. He did that a lot kinda ask to many questions. Not like he actually meant to just a habit I guess.
He never really had nerdy friends in high school not really his type.Sure maybe he'd talk to one or two but never really saw them out side of school, anywhere. "Ahhh... I agree with you, they do end up being your boss of some sort."When Derek had a job one of the guys he'd talk to occasionally through-out high school was a nerd you could say.And became his boss.Derek never really liked high school to many bad memories to go back to.
"Yeah,I guess you'd call that fun."He said with a small shrug, looking over towards her. "What do you like to do for fun anyways?"He asked.

She smiled. "Because, Colorado is boring, there's is nothing to do but be bossed around my your mom and dad, and have them make up your future." She said. She sighed. She was glad she left, but sort of wished she was still there.
She smiled. "My dad was a nerd, now, he's rich, and pays for me, for every mistake I do." She took a deep breathe. "To him, I'm a failure." She looked down, saying that quiet. He had always wanted her to go to collage in business, so she could carry on his business, but she couldn't stand, and couldn't wait to get out. So when it ended, she took her opportunity.
She smiled at him. "I played volley ball, and skied, and a lot of things. I can't do most of them here, Colorado had snow." She smirked. "I don't know what to do here for fun." Her smirked faded into a serious face. She was in choir, and she was a cheerleader, but she didn't care about her past any more.

Derek listened to her,his parents bossed him around a lot too, when he was more around the age of,thirteen-Seventeen.God he hated it and never fully understood why they would boss him around, about what seemed like everything to him.It didn't do any good really.Well at least thats what Derek though. "I know what you mean..."He said with a sigh, shaking his head lightly.
Derek bit down on his lower lip,as he listened to her, "I'm sure your not a failure to him."He said with a smile. To him she wasn't.But hey he'd just met her, however although to him she wasn't and that was the truth. She didn't seemed to really like to talk about her passed or at least he just kinda got that vibe from her.Dere could've been wrong, but he didn't think he was.If he did happen to be right,he wondered why she didn't really want to talk about her passed.Derek was curious, but he didn't dare to ask her.
"Snow,I don't like snow."He said scrunching up his nose making a face.He didn't like winter, and he knew that Colorado had snow.Ick he hated being cold.

Cameron smiled. "That's why I left." She shrugged. She dropped her flip flops onto the ground and slipped them on. She had no idea why she had been holding them this whole time but she did.
Cameron shrugged. "You don't know him though, he always had to next page of my life ready, but I just tore that book in half, and started my own." She looked at the ground, as if she was interested in it. She couldn't see much of it, but she acted as if she did.
She smiled. "Why not, snow is fun. You can do anything with snow pretty much." She looked at him. She had always loved snow, that was the best part. Maybe you had to live in Colorado to love snow, but she didn't care. "Have you ever gone sledding?" She asked with a smile. California had to have snow, just not in this area.

Derek nodded his head.He could understand why she had left.I mean who would want to live with parents that just wanted to control you.His mom did that to him, control him.Told him what SHE wanted him to do.Like in high school, which he hated. The only reason he staid in High school, was because of his mom.If he had it his way he'd dropped out when he was a sophomore.School just wasn't for him.
Derek smiled, "Thats good."He said still with a smile across his face. "You shouldn't have someone telling you what they want you to do with your life..."He said, trailing off. "Cause thats just not fair."He said simply. And it wasn't fair especially to her.
Derek listened to her and shook his head that the question she had asked."Nope I've never gone sledding."He knew what it was just never actually done it. "Is it fun?"He asked, her with a smirk on his face.Derek bit down on his lower lip, somewhat looking around. His so called friends didn't show go figure...and it was getting pretty dark out now.

Cameron sighed, listening to the silent night. She could tell his friends didn't show up. She crossed her arms to hug herself. The night was colder then the day, of coarse, but she was used to it. She lived in Colorado, where you where shorts when it is forty degrees outside.
Cameron looked at him. "It is good, and I'm proud and happy that I left." She was happy with herself, and her parents still paid for her to anything she wanted, still paid for her cell phone bills. They would be happy if she came back. They would accept her with open arms.
Cameron shrugged. "Its fun, if you know how to." She smiled, looking up at him. "Or if you don't run into trees." She braced her left shoulder. When she was ten she ran into a tree and had to go to the emergency room, but she wouldn't tell him that, then he would never go sledding. "But skip sledding, have you ever even gone out in the snow? Like made a snow angel, or a fort?" She had never built a fort, but the kids down the street did. She looked at him, surprised. How couldn't someone like snow?
