Character History; Ashley grew up in a good neighborhood in Houston, TX. Her family wasn't rich, but they weren't poor, either. Her father was a horse trader and her mother was a teacher. When she was 16, trajedy struck her family. Her mother was killed in a car accident. She went into depression. She dropped out of high school two months later. Her father started drinking and was fired from his job. They lost their house and had to move into a small apartment in a bad neighborhood. She experimented with drugs and drinking when she was 17. She came to California when she was 22 with a few hundred dollars in her pocket and nothing to lose.
Sample Post; Ashley walked into the crowded coffee shop. She walked up to the counter and fished a few bucks out of her pocket. She ordered a mocha latte and sat down at a table. She had had a rough day. She had been searching all over for a job. She hadn't found one anywhere. She had hardly been able to afford her rent this month and would certainly not be able to pay it the next month unless she found a job. She had about 40 dollars left from when she left Houston. Ashley had thought about calling her dad and asking for money, but he was broke, too. When did life get so hard? She remembered when her life was almost perfect. Her dad was sober and had a job, her mother was alive, and they all lived on their ranch in Texas. She slurped up the rest of her coffee and walked out the door.
