Figure; Vanessa is of Filipino and Caucasian descent, and her physical features prove it. The Filipino in her brings out her skin tone, which is a smooth, tanned olive tone, and her long, thick, wavy brown hair, which falls gently to the middle of her back. The shape of ehr face is a cross between diamond and oval, although some may say diamond. The Caucasian in her brings out her body shape, which is slim but not sickly thin. She has natural curves suitable for her height and weight, which is five foot four and 114 pounds. Her eyes are dark brown and almond-shaped. Her nose is shaped and a little puggish but not by much. Her eyes brows are perfectly shaped and are not too thin but not thick, either. I guess you can say Vanessa likes to put effort into the way she looks. She has a bright smile which is outlined by an oval, almost almond-shaped mouth.
Clothing Style; As for her clothing style, she is a very laid-back, California-type girl. She loves to wear jeans and tees, mainly because that's what she feels comfortable in. She may throw in a hoodie once in a while, but only when it gets cold or a little chilly. Her family is considered to be upper middle-class, so she's not able to afford the most expensive or extravagent clothes available, but she makes do with what she has. She doesn't use a lot of make-up other than lip gloss, black eyeliner, black mascara, and eyeshadow. She likes to keep her appearence fresh and natural, which isn't hard for her to achieve. She cares enough about her appearance to take care of it but knows that beauty is only skin deep.
Hair; Wavy and dark brown. If she wants to go for a sophisticated look, she usually straightens it.
Eyes; Dark brown and almond-shaped.
Lips; Some say they're ruby red and perfect. Vanessa simply smiles at this and says it's all thanks to Lip Venom lip gloss.
Piercings; One, each in both ears.
Flaws; Vanessa has one scar running down her back diagnolly in a straight line. She also has some
Tattoos; None.
PERSONALITY;;
Personality; is not your average girl. Okay, maybe she is. She's a very sweet and caring individual. She's no Mary-Sue, though. She's very smart, sarcastic, and is not afraid to go after what she wants. She also stands up for herself and for her friends. She's very sassy as well and keeps the boys on their toes. She hails from Los Angeles which means that she knows that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. She is an only child but that doesn't mean that she's spoiled rotten. She knows how to handle herself in the toughest of situations. However, like every other person, Vanessa has her flaws. For example, she's very stubborn when it comes to making decisions on her own. If something doesn't go her way, she can be very easily angered and may take it out on her closest friends even though she knows they don't deserve it. It could be the most insignificant of things such as a bad grade on a test or not making the cheerleading squad. When something actually goes right for a change, she can get in over her head and take things too far.
She likes to think of herself as a sensible person, namely because many people around her aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer. She doesn’t care what people say or think about her. She sometimes comes off as a shy and sweet girl but people who know her the best say that she is a down-to-earth good person who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself or for her family and friends. What makes Vanessa an independent girl was that she grew up as her parents grew away from her. She still can't believe to this day how loving and attentive they used to be. She handled everything from puberty to boys to school since her father was always out drinking. Her history with boys and such made her well-known to tohers as the one who could be saved. Guys saw her as a poor princess who needed to be rescued from the evil dragon that was her life. Vanessa knew that many of them were full of it but they all claimed that they loved her, which she couldn't resist.
Mental Illnesses/Disorders; None that she knows of.
INTERESTS;;
Likes; Vanessa likes to keep to herself a lot. Although, she would give up an evening of reading and studying to spend time with her family or to catch a movie with her friends. She loves to shop and find a great bargain whenever she can. She likes to make people laugh and smile whenever they’re around her. She likes to help people and to see them turn their frowns upside down. Other interests include goofing off, bumming around, listening to music, and just being herself.
Dislikes; Vanessa doesn’t like to be alone, even though she likes to keep to herself. To clarify things, she doesn’t want to be alone in life. She hates it when people use her to get something that she has or has access to. Then again, who does like to be used? She hates it when people judge her before they get to know her. She has come across many rich snobs who think higher of themselves and who show off the “latest and the greatest”. Also, Vanessa knows she’s one smart cookie, and hates it when people point out what she already knows. She’s capable of handling herself so she doesn’t need help every single step of the way.
Hobbies; Since her hobbies are centered around high school, and since Vanessa is an only child and motherless, her whole family expects her to maintain a perfect grade point average and graduate high school with honors. However, being the thespian she is, she plans to attend USC to study acting or film since she's so spontaneous when it comes to making decisions. While she tries to please her family, she does try to unwind once in a while.
NOW THE GOOD STUFF;;
Character History; Vanessa was born in Los Angeles, CA to two loving yet extremely hard-working parents. She grew up in a very normal household surrounded constantly by family and friends. She was an only child and did her fair share of work around the house, which included cooking dinner if her mother was out working late or doing laundry if her parents were too busy with other things. She never complained since she always had someone to help her out. When she turned ten years old, her mother died in a car accident. Her sudden death hit Vanessa and her father hard. To get away from it all, including her mother, her father moved hmself and his daughter from Los Angeles to Sacramento. She wasn't in favor of the move but complied anyway. She hated Northern California for the most part but eventually got used to it. She met many new people, including some guys who just wouldn't leave her alone.
What really angered her about the move was that she thought it was to get away from her mother, and she thought her dad was running away from his problems. Her father was laid off for a while, which caused Vanessa and her father to suffer a lot. He couldn't afford private school anymore and Vanessa was forced to go to a public school. Since she was the only Filipino student in an all-white school, she not only faced racisim from her peers but also humiliation. She gained one close friend, Ashley. Things began to get better, including her relationship with her father and him getting his job back. When her father was able to get back up onto his feet, they made a final moveto her hometown, Los Angeles. However, instead of living in the main city, they moved to Santa Monica.
Sample Post; Vanessa flopped onto her couch, totally bored. Her best friend since preschool, Jack, was sitting at the opposite end of the couch, looking as almost bored as her. She sighed and blew at a loose strand that tickled her nose. It was the weekend before spring break. Mia was supposed to be planning a road trip with her friends. Sadly, her car was in the shop and wouldn't be ready until Sunday, the funeral of spring break.
"This sucks big time." she said to Jack, who had begun strumming on his guitar. She smiled as she listened to the music. It always relaxed her. And Jack was a damn good musician too. They always used to pretend that they would be rock stars one day, just the two of them. She laughed. "Remember we used to dream that we would be the best thing that happened since The Beatles?" she said. "You think it would still happen?" she asked out of curiosity, propping her chin on her elbows, writing random lyrics to the notes to the notes that flowed out of the instrument. She began to sing the lyrics, her voice harmonizing with the soft notes that flew out of the guitar. She smiled and held back tears, knowing that this wouldn't happen again for a while.
